"Under the Bucket" Week 3

Throughout the season, Brett McConnachie and Dominik Rozman will be giving Charger hockey fans an inside look at the team, from practice to the antics on the road, and of course a player's look at the action on the ice. It's a weekly feature we like to call "Under the Bucket."

We are in week three now of “Under the Bucket” and the Chargers are coming off two big road victories against the RIT Tigers. The Charger Blue played some of their best hockey making those Tigers look like grandma’s house cats. The “Grizzly Line” made up of Todd Bentley, Chris Martini and Dominik Rozman notched all three goals for the Chargers in Friday night’s game. In the Saturday's contest, David “Napoleon Dynamite” Nimmo proved to be Dynamite in scoring his first collegiate hat trick and surpassing his career goal total of 2. Marc Narduzzi stood on his head in net only letting in one goal, and was stylin' in his new pads. Everyone was pleased to see Jordan “Tuzzi” Erickson, in not so new pads, named MVB (most valuable backup) for the weekend. Troy “Bangs Sparkman” Maney saw his first action of the season Saturday night with a strong supporting cast in the stands and the Sparkman alumnus had a solid outing up and down the right wing. He was asked after the game “So how did it feel out there today with all those family members watching?” To which Maney replied, “I dunno, I just can’t wait to get home to see Crumpton and Danny!”

This weekend the Chargers are going to be playing their first two conference games against the Niagara Purple Eagles in our home opener. As always this week of practice will be filled with one-on-one battles and the intense “husky chase” as the boys get ready for their CHA rivals.
