Charger 3rd baseman Blake Bone has signed a minor league contract to play in the Seattle Mariners organization. Blake will leave for Everett, WA for to play for the Everett Aqua Sox, the Mariner's class-A short season affiliate in the Northwest League. Bone was the 8th pick overall of the Seattle Mariners organization in the Major League First Year Player Draft held June 5-7. Bone was drafted in the 11th round by the Mariners and was the 326th player taken in the draft.

Bone, in his three year career at UAH, set 13 Charger individual records and had a career batting average of .344 with 203 RBIs and 46 home runs. The Southside, AL native also had a career ERA of 5.82 in 24 appearences as a relief pitcher. Blake was named Gulf South Conference (GSC) Freshman of the Year in 1998, to the All-GSC First Teams in 1998 and 1999 and Second Team in 2000.
