K-12 Education
The ASGC supports local initiatives which have introduced into Alabama schools the methods and materials developed and promoted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Academy of Science, the Smithsonian Institution and the National Science Teachers Association.
Outreach
The Outreach Program is a unique way to acquire funds for programs, conferences, and seminars that promote the understanding, education, development, and utilization of space, that encourage interdisciplinary training and research in aerospace-related fields, and that train professionals for careers in aerospace science, technology, and allied fields.
Higher Education
ASGC's higher education programs have helped infuse space sciece and technology into undergraduate and graduate courses at all campuses.
Research
A major goal of the ASGC has been to build upon the effective space research infrastructure that is a distinctive characteristic of North Alabama and to expand it throughout the state.
Workforce Development
Travel funds were provided to send professors from UAH, Auburn, the GHCC and University of South Alabama to workshops at JPL and Colorado (Colorado Space Grant) to learn how to build student space hardware in an attempt to interest students in hands-on engineering.
